Flash IDE

Schematic, PCB, firmware and the agent in one engineering app.

Best for

For engineers who design the board and write its firmware, or want hardware and code in one app.

  • Edit the board. Schematic, PCB and BOM in the Hardware workspace, with the part catalog and each part’s datasheet.
  • Locate the relevant firmware. Select a part or net to see it on the schematic and the PCB, then jump to the firmware that configures it.
  • Debug, then release. Program and debug the board in Debug, then package firmware and design files with checksums in Release.

Find your way around

  1. Top barThe project, the command palette and the button that shows the agent.
  2. ExplorerThe project’s files and folders.
  3. WorkspaceWhatever you are working on: the schematic and PCB, the code, the debug tools or a release.
  4. AgentThe conversation. Mode and approvals sit under the input.
  5. Workspace barSwitch between System, Hardware, Firmware, Debug and Release, and run Build and Flash.

Good to know

AI and plans. Free, Pro and Max use Flash-managed Claude or Codex. Studio and Enterprise can connect their own providers in Settings.

Conversations. Use the chat history to reopen a saved conversation for this project. A new conversation starts a separate task; it keeps the project’s shared context.

Limits. Each IDE window works with one project. Building, programming and debugging depend on the target, the installed tools and the connected devices.

Next: the tutorial in Flash IDE

  1. Create a project
  2. Add a peripheral
  3. Switch agent modes
  4. Write a driver
  5. Debug on the board
