Tool guides

Flash CLI

The agent and hardware tools in your terminal, with commands for repeatable work.

Best for

For terminal-first engineers, lab machines over SSH, and scripts and CI.

  • Runs where the boards are. Open it over SSH on the lab machine: the tools and USB devices are that machine’s.
  • Panels a key away. Project, changes, build and debug sit beside the conversation, without leaving the terminal.
  • Made for scripts and CI. flash project and flash hardware commands return JSON you can use in a pipeline.

Find your way around

  1. HeaderThe panel tabs and the current agent mode.
  2. ConversationThe agent’s replies, plans and proposed changes.
  3. PanelPROJECT, CHANGES, BUILD, DEBUG or SETTINGS, one shortcut away.
  4. PromptType requests, /commands and @files.
  5. Status lineApproval mode and connection.

Good to know

AI and plans. Free, Pro and Max use Flash-managed Claude or Codex. Studio and Enterprise configure their own providers with flash setup.

Conversations. Use flash resume to choose a saved conversation or flash resume <session-id> to reopen one directly. flash sessions list shows the current workspace’s history.

Limits. The CLI is a terminal interface, not a source-code editor. On SSH, tools and hardware access run on the remote machine.
